What is the purpose of a local grain economy?

To promote and preserve heritage seeds, to support local mills and grain producers (aka family farms), to support bakeries, breweries, pasta makers, restaurants and livestock farmers.

To create jobs, and improve land use.

To decentralize, and diversify.

To propel food sovereignty.

Who are the key players in a local grain economy?

Farmers, millers, producers and customers. We also like to add seed breeders to the mix.
