Why do we love spelt?

Spelt is easy-going and accessible. It has all the goodness of an ancient grain while behaving similarly to wheat.

What is different about it?

Unlike modern wheat, spelt is hulled, so it requires the additional step of dehulling post-harvest.

What is spelt?

Spelt is a natural cross between emmer and wild grass.

What are the grain’s strengths?

High protein and high unsaturated fatty-acid content. High water solubility, meaning easier digestibility.

It is jam-packed with fiber, iron and B vitamins. And it also has a beautiful, nutty flavor!

What do you use it for?

Spelt flour, for baked goods or pastas.

Spelt berries, cooked whole.

Or malted spelt, for beer.
